Boredom is a boss from Armed Police Batrider.

Details[]

Boredom is a hovering automation originally designed to suppress urban insurgencies. It is comprised of a large central unit and four smaller compact ones, which it can detach from the main body. While the main unit is able to descend down and pursue targets, its relatively large size makes it not ideal for pursuit through narrow paths so it releases the smaller units and remotely controls them. Only a single prototype was ever produced since the unit went berserk and injured many people on its first field test.

Characteristics[]

As its title suggests, Boredom is a somewhat police-themed robot. It has a pair of circular shoulders with small air vents on the front. It has a large rectangular chestpiece, and mounted on the robot's back is a spiral machine gun. Its head is pointy and has what appears to be a green lens for an eye, and grey guns are mounted on the sides of the head. It has 2 large blue "wings" with large red lights on the sides, and they are folded to conceal its arms when the robot is dormant. It has sharp claws on its arms, and floats on a large propeller.

Boredom is accompanied by 4 green helicopters with turrets mounted on their sides.

Battle[]

When the battle begins, Boredom's wings are folded over its arms and the machine will only attack by firing bullets from its head. First, the player must destroy the 4 helicopters chained to the machine, which attack by firing lasers from their turrets. Once the helicopters are defeated, Boredom will begin attacking using the gun on its back and shooting laser rings from the shoulders. It will also open its shoulders to release the same small units summoned by Buzzcock. The circular constructs on the shoulders can be destroyed to prevent it using its laser rings, and once both are destroyed, Boredom will unfold its wings to fire red lasers from its arms, and open its shoulders to reveal multiple gun batteries, which can be seperately destroyed.

If the player is using a Sorcer Striker character, then the fight against Bashinet begins after Boredom is defeated.

Trivia[]

  • Boredom shares its boss theme with Buzzcock.
  • Interestingly, Boredom's design bears slight resemblance to Bashinet R in Kingdom Grand Prix.
